How to avoid emotional eating!

I am an emotional eater, always have been. If I get upset or stressed, the first thing I wanted to do was eat. Its how I gained weight in college, and when I was struggling with depression or my breakup. I have now learned how to change my bad habits into healthy ones and not binge eat when I am bored, stressed, or upset.

What is a emotional eater?
According to Mayo Clinic emotional eating can be described as eating to soothe negative emotions such as boredom, fear, anger, anxiety or sadness.

What do I do now?
– Drink tea☕️
– Go workout 🏋️‍♀️
– Listen to music🎧
– Read a book 📖
– SLEEP- the best when you are upset, stressed or bored. Catch up on some Zzzzzz’s😴

What can YOU do?
– Watch a movie 🎬
– Play a game 🎮🎲
– Paint your nails 💅🏻
– Hang out with friends👭👭
– Call a friend 🤳🏻
– Take a bubble bath/shower🛁
– Color, paint or draw🖍🖌
– Take a walk 🏃🏼‍♀️
– Take deep breaths
– Write in a journal📝
– Drink water🚰
– Play with a pet🐶
– Do homework/ study📚
– Scroll instagram or any social media account🤳🏻
– Read positive quotes or look at pictures. ( check out we heart it 🖤)
